Celebrating the big 4-0 this year, Browns are marking the big occasion on 14th April with a special en masse designer collaboration and an exhibition on the history of the iconic shop. The ‘Future Collectables’ project is uber-amazing with 40 designers, who have been influential in the history of Browns, recreating an archive piece or creating a new exclusive item to be sold in store and online. Check out Christopher Kane’s red 'Eva’ dress from his MA show in 2007 and a gorgeous dress by Erdem above. If your lucky enough to get your hands on a piece, it will come with a "Browns 40th anniversary" label with a numbered edition. The collection will also be sold in a temporary pop up shop which will travel throughout 2010 in cities such as Berlin, Dubai and Zurich.
I am actually in love with the above Nicholas Kirkwood shoes - so fabulous and OTT (“How fashion dahling!”).
Browns is undoubtedly renowned for discovering new promising fashion talent such as Alexander McQueen, Hussein Chalayan and of course Mr Galliano and in celebration the forthcoming exhibition will be a retrospective display through the years of Browns’s movers and shakers ranging from Calvin Klein in the 70’s to the current designs of the incredible David Koma. Running for three weeks in London’s Blake Penthouses, it will feature 40 iconic Paolo Roversi photographs of Browns’ ambassadors, 3D film footage of iconic catwalk shows and talks on dressing over the last four decades.
If you love fashion then this is not one to miss!
